Exclamation OEM Mopar headers?

Hasanyone put the OEM header setup on their compass? I know that replacing the stock manifold with a tube steel header can boost 30+ hp to a vehicle, but I wanted to know if anyone on here has used them yet? Again I drive a 2010 compass sport with the cvt trans. Hope to hear something.

Not yet man, its really hard to find a track or dyno place down here, but with rough math and a lot of "I thinks" I'm averaging it out somewhere between 225 and 265. Do you know of any programers for our rides? I already have an unlocked cpu and no gov. On my jeep, but I would like to be able to tune everything that I hae and am currently doing

how did you unlock the cpu?

I've not seen headers but I'm looking for one as well.

The caliber SRT4 has 280 on a similar block with a turbo. im in the same boat as you with intake and custom exhaust, we're likely hovering around 195-215hp

how much of a boost do you think the headers are going to give? I dont wanna dump another $400 and not get much of a pay off. I also think im gonna get a brute force stage 3 intake, instead of the custom one that I have built, its running much bigger tubing than I am right now, and Im gonna add the cyclone air piece to it to spiral air into my jeep faster

there is only one header on these engines, its on the back side. i wouldnt expect more than 5hp on the 2.4L. keep in mind that when you lower the back pressure on an exhaust system you change the torque curve of the engine. sometimes too little back pressure will have a negative effect on the engine. such as floating valves, worse fuel economy, and lower power output.

are you using the stock pipe for your custom air intake?

Yeah, the pipe that the stock o2 sensor is on, everything else is custom

you might see some gains if you go to a kit but it may not be as much as you want. the kits are cool cause they replace everything.

Whoop here it is, the 2.0 and the 2.4 are the same header. note that they only work on FWD models.

Default A dirty little secret.

You seem like the ones chasing some engine power on this thread so I thought this relevant. As I am sure you have seen the thread on here about someone attempting to put the srt-4 motor in the jeep. Not logical because of the transmission and drivetrain set up however. Our motor is the same as the srt-4s already. Merely not forged internals or boosted. Coming from a motor family I learned you can get more power, when doing a set-up like this. Nearly everything is interchangeable.

What about swapping out a Dodge Neon SRT4's engine into a 2011 Compass, It's a 2.4L as well?

RUNCNC, did he happen to say what he did? advanced the timing? forced the car to run off a higher octane?

It's not a chip like the old model of pcm. b&g flash the pcm( new data inside of the pcm) Because I leave in Montreal Canada I bought a pcm from my dealer and ship to Michigan to Dave(b&g). Your other option park your jeep for maybe 10-15 days before you receive your pcm back from b&G

Like you realize English is not my first language hope is clear!

2011 PCM from the dealer is 385 CDN.

look expensive but if you flash your pcm, you make a gift to the next owner of your Jeep and if something happen you swap your stock pcm before to go for warranty repair, swap pcm take 1min.

I do not know for you guy's in the States but here you have a problem with the radio and they realize your car is flashed, they do not want to pay for the repair even is the flash is not responsible with the failure!

@w4rh4wk flash make: better mpg 2-3, remap fuel timing, better better response of throttle so in fact do not think you will have a srt4.... maybe 8hp 8 tq better to drive.

Default Reflash. Try this first...

Ok guys, I know reflashing will improve performance. I've done that on my BMW. But it costs money. Before you spend that money, try resetting your computer first. Most cars come from the factory set in some particular way. That is, for the average Joe. This might be ok for some but not for me. I like to do some spirited driving once in a while and I appreciate the extra response and acceleration. Now, Jeep compasses might have small engines (2 and 2.4 liter) but it is so well designed that it can be powerful and responsive. My Jeep has the 2.4 liter engine. Here's what I did to reset my engine computer. I turned the ignition key on but did not start the engine. Then I depressed the gas pedal slowly all the way down and let it rise again slowly. When it was in the highest positon, I turned off the key, waited for about one minute then started the engine. I noticed that by resetting the computer will now "learn" my actual driving and will perform according to this new settings. It seemed to work. Now my engine feels that it has more pep and I noticed an improved fuel economy as well. Now my mpg gage shows 27.8. I used to get around 26.7. Sometimes less. Try it and please post your results. Thanks
