Shift Knob Wiring

Hey all,

I have a LED Shift Knob that I'd like to install, the LED color matches the interior lighting of my Compass, and I don't like the not-lit standard knob at night. I have the repair manuals and such with instructions for removal and installation, but the only place I found any useful wiring instructions is this site,

but it is for a VW. While I imagine the concept is the same, once it is wired in, does the outlet still work? Thanks

as long as you hook the wires back up for the socket, yes it will still work
