Smile Compass 4x4 CRD MPG

Hi There

I was wondering if any one can help anser thsi question I have been told by my dealer that the MPG I shoudl get from thsi car should be 42 -48 MPG
can anyone confirm if this is true or if in fact how i can obtain this I have only had thsi car since 1st of September thsi year and am only getting 32 MPG according to teh TRIp computer and I do not drive over 60 MPH

Also can anyone tell me how I turn on my dash board back light as at night i cannot see teh dials I can only see the digital display.

Any help is very much apprecited

I do Love this car though its a real dream to drive

Over here we don't get the Diesel, but my mpg in the 2.4 petrol is pretty low, between 20-25mpg (although some have said that's low compared to theirs) UPDATE: 24-30mpg

Do you have the EVIC computer? I don't so have to work my mpg's out manually

For the interior dimmer - twist the left stalk (well that's what it is on mine!) and if you click it, it turns on the interior lights too

I have the 2.0l diesel and I've no bother get'n 40mpg (British gallons), on motorway drive'n at 70mph. Car is 2 years old with 20,000 miles.
