New Jeep Compass 4x4 CRD Wheel clicking

Hi There
I have heard a clicking noise when I turn teh steering wheel on my new car its very very random and is just a slight click my car is teh new 2011 4x4 crd the thing is my friend has an older compass and he has the same noise its not load its just there.

can anyone tell me what this is ???

I'm getting the same noise from my 2008. when i turn the wheel I get clicking sound from under the hood. It doesn't matter if I'm moving or not. The first time it happened I checked the power steering level and it was a bit low. I topped it up and the noise went away but now has come back even though the fluid is still at the fill mark.
