Default shuffle songs on ipod

I have a 2011 jeep compass with a RHB radio. When the pod is connected and playing is there a way to shuffle songs?

I would guess you would just have to set it to shuffle songs on the ipod before you plug it in. I wouldn't think there would be a way to set it to shuffle on the deck. But I might be wrong

I would be surprised if it has the smarts to control the IPod. If as "OffTheWoll" says see if the default on the Ipod w/shuffle enabled is passed on when playing via the OEM deck.

My MP3 RES deck does not even show song names or any Tag info played from MP3 CD's. This after more than 15 years of MP3 players with that ability. The manual says it can but it doesn't do it. Poor engineering, someone forgot to install the chip to read ID Tags from MP3 tracks.
