Jeep compass automatic stalled out???

So I was sitting at a red light in pouring rain and my automatic jeep compass 07 stalled out. Someone please tell me why this would happen?

lol you have to give a little bit more info on the car... mileage, any recent work? 2.4l? 4x4? etc etc

haha sorry has only 53k, 2.4l and yes 4x4 and i bouggt it from carmax like a month ago so im new to all this

i'd say start with the basics. Has car max giving you a work history on the car? I'd assume that 30,000 maintenance hasn't been done on it. So buy a new airfilter, fuel filter, spark plugs, and have the belts inspected (you may not need them).
