Noisy on startup

When it is cold out and I start up the compass there is a loud ticking noise like a valve or something. When it warms up it goes away. I was wondering if that is normal or not. Any help would be appreciated. I dred if something is wrong and I have to go to the stealership.

Check you oil. Make sure it is correct. Next time you change oil try synthetic like mobil 1. That might help. Let us know what you find. tks

Ok sounds good. I think it is just a noisy valve train. Maybe it is just the way these motors are.

Well? How was the oil level or needed changing?
What year and millage is on that engine?
