Talking New Jeep Compass in UK

Hi there

My Name is David and I have now decided to take the plunge and by a New Compass Limited 4x4
I was looking for a new car for ages went through a lot choices test drove loads of different cars and could not decide what to get, Then my wife saw the New 2011 Compass Limited I drove it I like it so i ordered it, I cant wait until its delivered as this will be a real fun drive and up here in the Scotland I am now not woried about the snow at all

Previously I have owned Volvos and Car I am now getting rid of (sadly) is the Volvo s60 2.0T SE

There seems to be a lot of chatter in the US but not much in the UK so I am hopeing that what appears to be a great range of cars and some really decent comments about the range from forum members will help.

Roll on September 1st

Hi Davidred5,

Where abouts in Scotland are you? I'm originally from Birmingham but living in Montreal now with my family and a 2011 Compass North (Latitude) 4x4

Congrats on your purchase and advice is - ENJOY! (And if you want to accelerate fast, turn off the aircon!)

As for the snow, I haven't had it in snow yet (waiting til Novemebr!) but I previously had a Jeep Patriot 4x4 and it was great fun, no trouble and easy to drift too!

PS is your name a Nigel Mansell reference?

Welcome to the forum!

You'll love the Compass. They're super fun to drive, though I do find they lack a bit in power. They may have addresses those issue in the later models, but my 2007 North edition seems to be lacking a bit.

Please post pics of your ride when you get it. We'd all love to see it! Also, be sure to check the forum for information as you need it. If you need help with a certain issue or if you want advice on performance mods, you'll generally find what you're looking for here.

Again, welcome!

HI There
First thanks for the AIR CON tip as this is the kinda stuff I love to find out.
I am in Glasgow the snow late last year and early this year help persuade me that it was time to go with a 4x4

I must admit when i test drove the showroom car I did not notice any lack of power and I easily got up to 70MPH on the motorway without even using 6th gear (which was nice)

However I will make sure i put up a couple of images as soon as my new car arrives and look forward to your comments once done

In answer to your PS I am a major formula one fan however Davidred5 is not about Mansell it is a Star Wars Reference

Thanks again as this Forum seems to be very welcoming

Ah, the other red 5

Thinking about it, if you're getting a diesel, you might have a completely different performance, especially with more torque available
