Talking Hey Everyone

I come to you guys on a jump from redlineforums.com

This Friday I'll be trading in the best car I've ever owned, a 2004 Saturn Ion Redline. I'd never get rid of it, but I'm now a family man and it's not exactly practical for me.

I'll be taking possession of a 2012 Compass Limited, and have to tell you, the prospect of this car has definitely eased some of the pain at saying goodbye to what I consider my youth!

I'm looking forward to owning a Jeep as my only other cars were Saturns.

Any tips or advice is appreciated, and while I'll probably not visit often, I'm glad to be here and proud to be (soon) a member of the Jeep family!

I've got a lot to learn.....

welcome! Who says you have to get rid of your youth! ... i still have my 350hp mustang... and act like a teenager when the mood hits me I hope you enjoy your compass, i'm on my 2nd one and still love them (i had to get rid of the other one because it was manual and the wife cant drive stick). I got to test out the 4x4 on the automatic recently with a freak snow storm for Halloween and it passed with flying colors.

i have the same deep dish as you, just the anthrecite rims not the black ones. i just put a set of nitto nt05 tires on the rear. they get squirly in the cold, let alone in the rain.

i'm pretty sure we have successfully hijacked this thread with talk about a completely different brand

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! (and the slight hijacking, but that's ok, haha)

I just picked it up today, it's the dark silver metallic color. It's a limited with the freedom drive and sun and sound package with the 430N media center. I don't know the vehicle well enough yet to specify any other unique options it has.

I noticed that it doesn't have remote start, which is something that i was under the impression was standard. I blame myself for not doing the right research. Can anybody guesstimate how much it'd cost to have it dealer installed?

I did a lot of aftermarket stuff to my Redline and would rather steer clear of anything like that at this point. I had remote start in my 2nd car, but that was a long time ago and was already out of warranty and the Redline obviously wouldn't allow one.

I'm really loving it so far and will be happy to post some pictures as soon as I can. I already have a K&N filter to put in tomorrow, as I read on here that it'll benefit.

IRSmart, that'd be great. I'm VERY new to the whole jeep scene, let alone non-car world. I'm glad I'm here, though, and look forward to driving Jeeps for a long time to come.

as odd as this sounds, remote start is standard on the latitude, but when you move up to the limited, it is no longer standard. why? i have no idea. but you can add the factory remote start if you want. it's nicer than the aftermarket (even though anyone selling the aftermarket will tell you otherwise) but it is more expensive.

Mopar remote start system
