I see you have mud flaps which is needed to contain the spashing along the side being out further and all. I would be concerned about the additional stress on the suspension and hub being out futher. We all know how weak the Compass front end is already. I'll be watching for any updates on it.

My canary in the mine so to speak, was the patriot guys running big mud tires with spacers, without major failure. Your totally right tho we all know the weak front end is a ticking bomb. I already have slight play in the outer tie rods, I'll let everyone know if that accelerates.

Been a while since ive posted on the forum, back around haloween my compass was stolen. the *******s that stole it drove it 5 blocks from where it was parked and hopped a curb damaging all of the passenger side suspension and causing the curtain airbags to go off.

finally after about 2 months the insurance company decided that its a write off. i ended up getting more than what i paid for her. really sad to see her die like that! i loved my compass, it was alot of fun building it.

So for christmas santa brought me a new jeep... 2012 JKU

ill stick around the forum and help out when i can, also i have some parts that i will be looking to sell.

Hey Sheck, that really sucks about the Compass, but congrats on the JKU!! Will you be lifting and modding?

Merry Christmas

Being that this is my first 4x4 I'm not in need of a lift and tires yet, but once I find the limits of the stock susp and tires I'm sure I'll do some modding to that stuff. For now I just wanna get a hard silver tire cover and some husky liner floor matts. With the silver spare tire cover its gonna look like a mini G-Wagon.

Good luck, it has to be much more reliable in being more heavy duty than the compass.

Good luck and enjoy.

It doesn't say much for the compass not being able to withstand being driven over curbs though and surviing.

The cop said there was skid marks, and they hit the curb sideways, from the pics it looks like the front took most of the force.

There must have been a lot of hidden damage at the front end to put it out of its misery! LOL

Where you've been it wouldn't be able to follow from the pictures. You've got a real 4x4 now. You may like to pop into the forums here Platform Specific Tech Forums - JeepsUnlimited.com Forums

Enjoy, I can see you grinning from ear to ear!!
