Default CVT question

New Compass owner and new to the CVT, I bought the vehicle used, with 6800 miles. I have all the warranties. The CVT seems a little jerky, right at deceleration and right at initial acceleration, it has a couple of hiccups in the middle. Am I being too critical because its a new experience, or is there a problem with my tranny. The jerks are really noticeable.

Jerks? would that be shuddering or vibration in the power train feeling?

Well first welcome to the forum. Not sure what you're feeling. I do know having had regular auto's for years then going to the CVT, I hardly felt anything at all with the Compass, pretty smooth throughout the range. Same as many here have noticed, the Compass does have a slow reaction time on the initial accel, but if it's that noticeable, I'd get it in for service and have them check it out.

What year compass, 4 wheel drive?
Maybe want to check at the dealership to see if there are any updates for the pcm.

If it isn't right take it to your dealer. If they don't do anything or cannot resolve then try another dealer and another and see what the consenses is.
