Jeep Compass Versus Audi Q5 Accessories
As you all know, I own a Jeep Compass and have for years. To say that I like it would be an extreme understatement considering the fact I started the most popular Jeep Compass website on the internet. However, what you may not know is that I also own an Audi Q5. Well, to be a little more specific, my wife owns an Audi Q5. And to say she loves it would be an extreme understatement. We’re a car kind of family, what can we say? There’s a lot of rivalry between us and I worry about the day our kids finally get their own cars as it might start to get a little ugly. Anyway, Christmas shopping is always easy because she gets me accessories for my Jeep Compass and I get her accessories for her Audi Q5. Piece of cake!
The thing is, purchasing accessories for my Jeep Compass has become a little more difficult in recent years. On the other hand, purchasing audi q5 accessories has gotten extremely easy thanks to websites like the one I just linked. I mean come on, how many Audi Q5 accessories can one website carry? It’s amazing! And why isn’t there a website like that for my Jeep Compass? Well, as it turns out, they also carry Jeep Compass parts and accessories, so it’s all good. Christmas was saved this year and the rivalry goes on.
Do I ever drive my wife’s Audi. Ok, I admit it, once in awhile I do because it gets better gas mileage than my Compass. And she drives my Compass once in awhile, especially during the winter when she needs to have the 4×4 available just in case. But all in all, we stick to our respective vehicles because we love them so much. I mean, we literally derive happiness from these cars. But if you’re reading this blog, you can probably understand that. Anyway, as we get more accessories for our Audi and Jeep Compass, we’ll post here so you can see all the cool stuff.
2007 Jeep Compass: How To Unlock All Doors In One Button Press
Jeep Article: Unlock All Doors In One Button Press
This is taken from the Jeep Compass owners manual. This is the instructions to make the keyless entry remote unlock all doors and the liftgate with the first press of the Door Unlock button. From the factory, you have to press the unlock button once to unlock the drivers door, then press it again to unlock the rest of the doors.
NOTE: The system can be programmed to unlock all the doors upon the first UNLOCK button press. On electronic vehicle information center (EVIC) equipped vehicles, refer to the “Remote Unlock Driver’s Door 1st” under “Personal Settings” in the EVIC section of the owners manual.
On non-EVIC equipped vehicles, the system can be programmed to unlock all the doors upon the first UNLOCK button press by using the following procedure:
1. Press and hold the LOCK button on a programmed key fob.
2. Continue to hold the LOCK button at least 4 seconds, but not longer than 10 seconds, then press and hold the UNLOCK button. A single chime will sound to indicate that this feature has been changed.
3. Release both buttons at the same time.
4. Test the feature while outside the vehicle, by pressing the LOCK/UNLOCK button on the keyfob.
NOTE: Pressing the LOCK button on the keyfob while you are inside the vehicle will activate the Security Alarm. Opening a door with the Security Alarm activated will cause the alarm to sound. Press the UNLOCK button to deactivate the Security Alarm.
5. If the desired programming was not achieved or to reactivate this feature, repeat the above steps.
Buy Some Snow Boots Then Take Your Jeep Compass to Utah
It’s that season again, it’s ski season! Please tell me that you’re not one of those Jeep Compass owners who has this super powerful, often 4×4 vehicle and all you ever do is drive it to work on the freeway. Good, so that’s not you. Since you’re the adventuresome type, it’s time for you to head to the slopes with your Jeep Compass and get some wonderful skiing in (we recommend Utah). However, it may have been a little while since you’ve gone skiing, so please allow me to give you a little first hand advice so you and your Jeep’s vacation can be top quality since that is what you deserve.
First of all, ski wear technology has improved drastically since last time you went skiing. Yes, I can read your mind from far away on the internet. Since you bought your expensive Jeep Compass, it’s been awhile since you’ve made another big cash outlay and gone on vacation. Well, before you jump in your jeep and head to the slopes, I strongly recommend you buy some new snow boots. If there’s one thing that will make you miserable on the slopes, it’s improperly fitted or low quality snow boots. We’ve all been there and it’s just plain not fun. So go to that website and do some research because it’s a fantastic site.
If you don’t have time to research what sort of snow boots are going to find their way into the back of your Jeep Compass, then let me recommend some. I personal recommend sorel boots as they are far and above anyone else when it comes to boots these days. And the website I linked to has a ton of information and great prices, so there, the hard work is done. When your feet aren’t sore at the end of a long day of skiing, remember to send good vibes my way.
And finally, you’re probably wondering where to go skiing. In my opinion, nobody can beat utah ski resorts. The last time I went I was so pleased that I figured I’d probably never ski anywhere else. Seriously people, Utah is where it’s at for skiing. So jump in your Jeep Compass, grab your boots, and head to Utah. And be sure to take plenty of pictures of your Jeep off roading in crazy conditions.

2007 Jeep Compass: How To Program a Sentry Ignition Key
This is taken from the Jeep Compass owners manual. This is the instructions on programming an ignition (Sentry) key.
Replacement Keys
NOTE: Only keys that have been programmed to the vehicle electronics can be used to start the vehicle. Once a Sentry key has been programmed to a vehicle, it can not be programmed to any other vehicle.
At the time of purchase, the original owner is provided with a four digit PIN number. This number is required for dealer replacement of keys. Duplication of keys may be performed at an authorized dealer or by using the Customer Key Programming procedure (below). This procedure consists of programming a blank key to the vehicle electronics. A blank key is one which has never been programmed.
NOTE: When having the Sentry key Immobilizer System serviced, bring all vehicle keys with you to the dealer.
Sentry Key Programming Instructions
You can program new keys to the system if you have two valid sentry keys by performing the following procedure:
- Cut the additional Sentry Key Transponder blank(s) to match the ignition switch lock cylinder key code
- Insert the first valid key into the ignition switch and turn the ignition switch ON for at least 3 seconds but no longer than 15 seconds. Turn the ignition switch OFF and remove the first key.
- Insert the second valid key and turn the ignition switch ON within 15 seconds. After ten seconds a chime will sound and the Theft Alarm Light will begin to flash. Turn the ignition switch OFF and remove the second key.
- Insert a blank Sentry Key into the ignition switch and turn the ignition switch ON within 60 seconds. After 10 seconds a single chime will sound. The Theft Alarm Light will stop flashing, turn on for 3 seconds; then turn off. The new Sentry key has been programmed.
Repeat this procedure to program up to a total of 8 keys. If you do not have a programmed sentry key, contact your dealer for information.
