Jeep Article: Unlock All Doors In One Button Press
This is taken from the Jeep Compass owners manual. This is the instructions
to make the keyless entry remote unlock all doors and the liftgate with the
first press of the Door Unlock button. From the factory, you have to press
the unlock button once to unlock the drivers door, then press it again to unlock
the rest of the doors.
NOTE: The system can be programmed to unlock all the doors upon the first
UNLOCK
button press. On electronic vehicle information center (EVIC) equipped vehicles,
refer to the "Remote Unlock Driver's Door 1st" under "Personal Settings" in
the EVIC section of the owners manual.
On non-EVIC equipped vehicles, the system can be programmed to unlock all
the doors upon the first UNLOCK button press by using the following procedure:
- Press and hold the LOCK button on a programmed key fob.
- Continue to hold the LOCK button at least 4 seconds, but not longer than
10 seconds, then press and hold the UNLOCK button. A single chime will sound
to indicate that this feature has been changed.
- Release both buttons at the same time.
- Test the feature while outside the vehicle, by pressing the LOCK/UNLOCK
button on the keyfob.
NOTE: Pressing the LOCK button on the keyfob while you are inside the vehicle
will activate the Security Alarm. Opening a door with the Security Alarm
activated will cause the alarm to sound. Press the UNLOCK button to deactivate
the Security Alarm.
- If the desired programming was not achieved or to reactivate this feature,
repeat the above steps.
