Vibration over 60 mph

Hello all, just got my 2018 Jeep Compass Latitude 4x4. Loved it, but started to notice a shake while driving over 60 mph, in the wheel and seats. Thought maybe it was the tires, got new tires, better ones, didn't help anything. Went to dealer to rebalance, it was still the same. Went to another place to rebalance, still no change. We also have a renegade, swapped the wheels and tires onto my Compass, still shakes. Does anyone know of a bulletin or anything, its obviously NOT the wheels or tires. This is sickening, we have an appt on Firday, its def not the wheels or tires, must be something else out. Thanks for any input.

I wouldn't rule out hubs, driveshaft or subframe

Might also look at the brake rotors! Your under warranty drop it off and tell them to fix it!

Had the same issue out the gate and for me it ended up needing an alignment, took a long time for me to think of that but it cured 90% of my highway vibration. They told me probably the alignment got messed up from being strapped down really hard for transport. You can see my alignment results in this post here https://www.myjeepcompass.com/forums/107002-post22.html and if you read that whole thread you can see how long it took me to even think of an alignment, I was all up in arms about crap stock tires being the culprit.

I still have a tiny bit of un-smoothness but I still have the crappy stock continental tires, and their first few thousand miles they wore unevenly due to the alignment being off for so long so thats probably the main reason, they've gotten a tiny bit better since then but overall those stock tires are not great. The alignment made all the difference in the world though it was scary bad handling on icy roads until I figured that one out. Cost was handled under warranty of course.

Pardon my cynicism, but I expect stock tires are made to a price by the lowest bidder. That said, you can't blame irregular wear on the tires when it was caused by faulty alignment.

The wear I understand, but does anyone else notice that with the continentals when you park at night and the warm tires cool down it kinda locks some flatness into the tires where they touch the driveway, and then in the morning those "flat spots" can be felt for miles until the tires warm up and become pliable enough to come out of it? That's not caused by an alignment issue, that's just crappy cheap tires. On mine the flat-spot shuddering is really pronounced for the first 1/4 mile, medium for another couple miles, then slowly gets better until its smooth again, but then it gets parked overnight and the whole cycle repeats. I think I get it the worst it can be because I live just off a major highway, so I run 75 MPH for 10 miles and then basically take one turn and park. Add to it the extreme temp swings of MN here and it just seems to really exacerbate the effect. I hope my next set of tires will be a little bit better in that department.

I had a set of tires on my '74 Cherokee that were that way. On cold mornings it was like I had square wheels. I'd only been driving for a few years and I'd never felt anything like that. I thought something was wrong with the vehicle, or at least my tires. But after a dozen miles they's smooth right out. I didn't keep that vehicle long and I completely forget what it had for tires, only that they were snows all around.

There are a handful possible tires to get depending on your trim and your luck. The Trailhawks all come with A/T tires, the other trims get various M/S rated tires, seems to depend on what part of the country or possibly rim size. I have the 18 inch rims.

I started having a little vibration when accelerating from a stop. Not fast accelerating, just getting up to 30 in no hurry. I'm sitting right below 20k miles and don't recall this ever happening before. Should I be worried?

Vibration starting at 40 mph

Felt the vibration as I was pulling away in the brand new compass. As you accelerate starting around 37, then 43, 59, 67 up to 82, haven't gone faster. Have a vibration in the steering wheel, center console and seat base. The dealer tried to balance the Firestones that were on the vehicle, took excessive amounts of weight. I driver away and was no different and I want happy that there was 4-4.5 oz on a brand new car. They swapped to kuhmos, no different. Had a friend road force balance, better, but still have vibration in the center console and seat base. Anyone else with the issue?

I hope all is well! My 2018 Compass is still plagued with a vibration in the steering wheel and center console. The dealer has replaced the tires and performed an alignment. Basically above 60 you feel the shake in the steering wheel as you get closer to 74 mph it vibrates in the steering wheel for about 3-4 seconds and then shifts to console, then back to the steering wheel and so on. I use cruise control often and find it continues up to about 82. Thoughts
