No 6th gear on new manual

Bought a new 2019 lattitude manual 4wd today. Right of the lot, there is no 6th gear. Anyone else experienced this?
So far the dealer is looking like a shoulder shrug, so i might have a real problem. 1st jeep for me and this is so disappointing

Are you saying that there is no 6th gear on the shift knob, or you cannot shift it into 6th gear, or both?

There is a 6th gear marking on the knob, but I cannot shift into it. There is no sense of there being even a something to shift into, no feel of a gate, detente or anything - in that position, it just goes back to 4th.

I've searched the interwebs and spoken with my dealer and found nothing like this. Dealer thinks "they might have fitted a 5 speed box in the factory by accident" - seems unlikely to me, but what do I know.

I'm optimistic that the dealer will do the right thing and exchange for a new different vehicle, but we shall see!

In any event, I'm still really curious as to whether anyone has had or heard of the same problem.

A one of a kind compass! You have my attention please keep posting about your rare 5 speed. Which dealer told you about the "accidental" install?

I would say more than likely a faulty transmission. Transmission probably assembled incorrectly. FCA/Dealer should be replacing the vehicle without question sine this bought new off the lot and not something that happened 1000 miles later. But than my transmission leaked fluid the day I drove it off the lot and than it spent 3 weeks in the shop being repaired. Than failed 5000 miles later and the selling dealer abended me and another took over and was great and in getting the issue resoled. Good luck and make sure you are in constant contact with Jeep Customer Service. Don't let up on the dealer or FCA.

So, finally got this resolved - at least, i hope so. Nothing more than miss adjusted shift cables. In the process of finding the fault however they twice got the car to fault code on the limp home/ rev limiter code, so i hope they have not done long term damage.

A bigger issue is that they knew that the car had no 6th Gear and that is it had fault codes which they cleared by disconnecting the battery, and they sold it to me without saying a word. Very shabby. I hope that not all Jeep dealers are like this.

Its so rare to find a legitimate use for this once-popular and now turned-taboo word, but what they told you right there... that is straight up retarded. Dealers employees say an awful lot of stupid things, but this one pretty much takes the cake I'd say.

The sad part is, that quality control at FCA is so pathetically bad, it would have been a legitimate possibility.

Wow. Some shady dealers out there. There is definitely a 6th gear and you better make sure it works perfectly.

I am curious which dealer did this. I am also in New England. Do you mind PM'ing me the dealer? I have a hunch.. but want to confirm.
