What the hell is this thing???

So my company got me the worst POS thing on the market, a 2018 jeep compass...as I was looking around this thing, I found this...now it looks like a microphone but when I try to look up the assembly numbers on it I get sent to Fiat motor company, not sure what this is but it is right above my head just behind the visior, the owners manual say that the microphone for the Bluetooth **** in the car say the microphone is in the rear view mirror which I took apart and found...so if the microphone for the bluetooth is in the rear view mirror...what is this?

Those are the temp sensors for the driver and passenger automatic climate control. Not exactly sure how you would call a brand new car a POS, especially one that was given to you. Care to elaborate as to why you think its such a POS other than you didnt get the car you wanted?

Ok...first thing is I didnt want a company car...my company paid me $.54 a mile and I averaged 800 to 1200 a week...so That's a lot of money I'm not getting...second...43 miles on it and the check engine light is on already don't believe it...here's a pic...don't ask me what's wrong or why it came on...I carry a obd2 reader...didnt even look at the codes...just cleared and kept driving...second...there is a bunch of what are called safety options that you can't turn off...the light rain I drove in couldn't exceed more then 50mph...abs brakes kept kicking in for no reason...traction control kept flash for no reason what so ever and when I tried steering to the berm of the road to try and get traction just a bit...it felt like the steering wheel was fighting against me...I think the tires are too small for the weight of the car is most likely the cause of the loss of traction...I use bigger tires on my bike...my lancer es is an eco car and it has bigger tires...I see me hydroplaning off the road and rolling over or bouncing off of 50 other cars with this thing...

Ok...I could see it being a sensor but it doesn't have climate control...and its uncomfortable for me to drive...I'm used to cars...the seat is too high from the pedals so I have to move myself closer to the steering which suck because that puts you closer to point of impact when this things decides to Christine me and drive me off the road and I get an airbag in my face...I like to stretch my legs out not down...and i pulled the sensor apart...it doesnt look like a thermal sensor i have ever seen...it had 3 holes in it like a mic would

If your having all these problems inform your employer that the vehicle is unsafe and needs to be returned to the dealer for repair.
With a push of a button you can turn off traction control. As well as other options. All explained in the owners manual.
I realize you are losing out on money not getting paid by the mile. I guess your employer figured out they were also losing money by doing so.
And those 2 other mics that you took pictures of. Well one is for the NSA and the other is for the FBI they like to listen in sometimes.

So it/they are either temp sensors or microphones, either way who cares? Why make an angry thread about them in the first place? Why are you dismantling parts of a company car? Why talk so negatively about the vehicle when clearly, if it is as bad as you say (assuming you are not grossly exaggerating) the vehicle is defective and needs to be returned?

There is nothing that should or could prevent you from exceeding 50 MPH in any conditions. If you say it has no climate control (manual heating/cooling) then obviously you don't have lane departure warning or assisted braking or automatic wipers or any of the high-end optional safety equipment so what are these alleged safety features you think are impeding you so? The car knows nothing about whether it is being driven in rain or sunshine and even the ones that do (with automatic wipers) do not prevent you from exceeding any set speed as a result.

It sounds to me like you have a bottom-end base model because mine the seat moves up/down/forwards/backwards and the front and back can angle up and down separately, like 12 directions this seat can move so there is no way you can end up with an uncomfortable reach for the pedals. You simply adjust the seat until the pedals are easy to reach, THEN adjust the telescoping steering wheel in/out/up/down until it is within easy reach but not too close to your face. Do the base models not have telescoping steering wheels?

Either way, if your check engine light is already on in under 50 miles then obviously something is EXTREMELY wrong, and its just asinine for you to ignore/clear those errors and indications and continue to driving it and worse yet come here and complain to us about it. Bring it in and tell them matter-of-factly what issues you have experienced (just the facts, they don't need the dramatized version any more than we do) and let them determine if it truly is a lemon and get it fixed or replaced for you.

The steering wheel fighting you was probably the lane departure sensors If you do not signal and try to move over it senses it thinking you are drifting and tries to correct. It can be turned off by a button on the center console and once turned off it will stay off. If you have your directional on it will not try and correct so my guess is you tried to pull off to the side of the road without signaling and it kicked in trying to keep you from driving off the road.

IF I was this guys employer and found him tearing the car up, he'd be on the unemployment line. If the vehicle has a problem, then it should be taken to the dealer to see what caused the CEL. Other than that, it sounds like an adult child having a tantrum because he didn't get what he wants.
