Door lock issues

So I've had my 18 compass for a few weeks now and I'm trying to figure out if I'm missing a setting or something is wrong. When I drive and then park and shut off the car and get out I can't open the back door from the outside without unlocking the jeep. I have the setting checked in the menu about unlocking the doors but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Does anyone else have this issue?

Try getting out within a couple seconds of shutting off your car, or even better, next time open ur door before shutting off (with the appropriate "unlock on exit" setting selected). Do the back doors open now?
I have the same "issue" that doors dont unlock if u shut down and open your door a few seconds later. I guess this is by design. Cherokee I use to have definetly wasnt programmed like this...

Have the same issue. I hate it. You can open your door before you shut off or be quick after shutting off. All are PITA and Jeep should fix it.

It is maddening - especially when I have left something on the passenger seat with intentions of walking around the car to get it out of the passenger side door (usually this is my PURSE - with my KEYS in it!) ... then I have to walk back around to the driver's door to unlock the thing. I have been trying to remember to hit the unlock button as I'm getting out - I need brain re-training to survive this quirk.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been though all the settings a dozen times. Also the child door locks. Everything is set correctly. It is another annoyance Jeep needs to fix or at least try.

I'm glad I'm not the only person with this issue. I've taken mine to the dealer twice and both times they say they cannot replicate it (even though it happens 90% of the time). I kinda gave up and will try a different dealer when I've got more patience haha
