Can anyone decode windshields?

Unfortunately, after 1000 miles on the odometer I need to replace my windshield (you'd swear a boulder hit it on the highway). Anyway - can anyone decode windshields? I've attached all the various options that Safelite shows for a 2018 Compass. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What options do you have on your car? Thats really going to be the deciding factor on which windshield you go with.

Also, why don't you just pass on the garbage aftermarket glass completely and just get the OEM windshield from the dealer?

because if I had to guess, the dealership will be 2X the cost of alternative options.

Had to replace mine after a few hundred miles, back in june. I ended up going with a local place that ordered the proper glass using my vin. At that point there was no aftermarket options. oem from jeep dealership was only option. Because it was the only option, statefarm covered it

So I am not an expert but I can explain a few things here. For 1 your windshield is acoustic which means you do have the sound proofing. If you have the rain sensing wipers not sure if you know but check your vin or window sticker. If you do then you need to check that off because where the rearview mirror mounts to the windshield is where that sensor is so it makes a difference. If you have climate control then you would have the humidity sensors. If you have the front windshield de-icer then you have the wiper park area. You can check this if you do not know by looking at the bottom corner of the passenger side windshield. If you have it you will see thin red lines that are like the rear window defroster lines in the windshield. You may have to pull up on the wiper arm to see them. Obviously you should know if your Jeep has the lane assist/departure

For what it's worth, Safelite installed a new windshield at my home for $351.85. There was no difference if I would have went into their shop. OEM windshield with all the bells and whistles minus lane departure/assist if that would have made a difference.

They verified the VIN for me to make sure I got the correct one. They had to order a separate part as well which I believed had to do with the humidity sensor.

I would add glass coverage to your insurance so your windshield or all glass for that matter is covered and you dont have to pay for that type of stuff.
