Rear hatch passive entry

Anyone else having issues with their rear hatch and passive entry. Mine will open only 1 in about every 10 attempts of clicking the button. When the car in unlocked, opens every time without issue. So pretty sure its something with passive entry.

Hello kuba,
We understand how this could be frustrating. Have you reached out to the dealer yet?

Mine is the same way, I think pressing and holding the button works the most reliably. The manual states to grab and pull the hatch up with one fluid motion. I think perhaps unlike the front doors the car is not actively "looking" for the fob at the rear gate, but when the hatch button is pressed and held it then "looks" for the fob and a moment later opens up. I have only put together this theory in the last couple days so I haven't had much time to prove it, but give it a shot and let me know if there is any improvement for you.

I think another part of the problem is we walk up really close to our doors to open them. When we open the rears we are shifted really far back maybe even awkardly, to avoid both the door when it opens and messing up our pants on the bumper. This probably causes the key to some times be out side of range. I am going to try putting the key in my jackets chest pocket in the future to see if that helps.

I've noticed on mine, I usually have to touch the inside of the handle a couple times to get it to open. Now that I think about it, maybe I grab and pull, and when it doesn't work, I kind of hold it til I hear it unlock? My fob is always in my jacket pocket, and I'm 6'1"... So the fob is REALLY close.

I have to press three times fairly quickly, which seems to work consistently so far.

I have noticed this also. If the hatch is locked, the third pull will unlatch it. If the doors are unlocked, first pull works each and every time. I do have a chromed ABS cover over the handle so I don't know if the chrome interferes with the signal from the fob.
