1 year of ownership Compass MP Trailhawk

Tomorrow I will have owned my 2nd Gen Compass Trailhawk for 1 year.
Transmission was leaking the day I brought it home. After 2 weeks in the shop FCA replaced a seal and a shaft.
At 5000 miles transmission was leaking again. After 10 days FCA replaced the transmission. Have not had a transmission problem since.
I have to drive a lot for work so I ran stock size Winterforce2 snow tires during the winter and the vehicle handled all the weather and road conditions very well. I drove in one snow storm with the stock Falken tires and I was skating all over the road. With the body lines of the vehicle as the snow melts it runs down and will sometime freeze my fuel door shut. So I had to use some ski wax around the inside to keep it from freezing. In the winter months the colder the worse it was, when moving the shifter to manual at any speed it would make a terrible wine than a large thump. As the weather got warmer the quieter it became and now with warm weather I hear nothing but a quick thump.
I had issue with the front wipers with snow and ice filling in the cowling area below the wipers. And another odd thing, I have the winter package and the area that heats the end of the wiper blade gets warm enough to deform the rubber on the blade. That was with the factory blade and with the Amco Snowblades I installed. Another winter related item I just notices and I am sure it from the ice build up on the lower black rubber seals at the bottom of the window. They are pitted and look weather checked. The flat plastic area were the hood latch is and the rod that holds the hood up for some reason is cracked no apparent reason from what I can see. The unlocking of the doors after shutting off the vehicle works sometimes. My inside light dimmer did work fine, just noticed a week ago that it did not work when I went to use it.
I have over 26,000 on the vehicle at this time. I track all my fuel cost and mileage. With winter driving and snow tires and here we have winter blend fuel which reduces fuel mileage, my Trailhawk averaged 26.10 MPG for the year/ My lowest mileage was 18.44 mpg my best was 32.5 mpg. Most of the time I use Shell regular grade 87 octane gasoline. No oil consumption between oil changes, I use Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic 0w-20. I change oil every 5000 miles.
I will be taking it to the local dealer sometime in the next 2 week to get my few issue taken care of and have them give it good going over.
Sorry I got a little long winded.
Have a GREAT DAY everyone.

Thanks for the update! You are not the only person i have heard giving good reviews of Shell gasoline. I might need to make a shift myself.

26000 in a year - sounds like a good year of driving!

I just hit 1400 on my new Cherokee - loving it
the better half hit 18k (started at 14.7) on the new to us Compass - loving that

we had a few bumps early on but seems pretty smooth now - only remaining issue is a bit of grinding every now and then when turning - still VERY intermittent but watching it

Proud owners of a new to us certified pre-owned

I have to drive a lot for work, This is actually on the low side. I could not drive the vehicle for almost a month while it was under repair.
I also lost a month when I had to stay home and take car of my Mt. Bike racing wife who crashed and broke her hip. If not for that it would have an additional 5000 miles or more.
