LED Projector Headlights

Does anyone know if the LED Projector Headlights are compatible with the 2017 Jeep Compass 2nd Gen?

It states that it will indeed fit, just want to make sure or see if anyone has done it.

No one has because it's like $470ea. Only difference I've been able to determine is there is no side marker light on the LED headlamp, only the halogen has it, so there'd be a plug you'd have to tape up to keep from corroding, since it's not used. You also have to completely remove the front bumper to change the headlamp housings, not many have done that yet (I have).

Those are the HID headlights so they will require some sort of ballast to be used. This could create a wiring issue and a canbus issue requiring programing.

If you are going to run led bulbs or standard bulbs instead of the HID make sure they will fit in these housings! Then with LEDs you need to get Canbus compatible bulbs that are compact enough to fit in the limited space behind the headlights. There are a few that list on this forum what fits the standard housing and are Canbus compatible. Keep in mind these housings are different so bulb fitment may also be different.

I love the look of the Compass with these headlights but cost is steep and factory halogens are fine for us on the road. Off-roading at night for us they fall short so we will be adding off-road lights to take care of this. I'm betting in the near future many headlight types will be available aftermarket much cheaper maybe then I'll go for better looking/performing headlights.

Best of luck!

OEM ballast is part of the headlight, it's mounted on the bottom iirc. Main harness connection for the headlamp is the same as halogen (all bulb connections are internal to the headlamp, only two connections from the engine bay harness go-to the halogen headlamp and 1 connection for the HID/LED accent headlamp.

There are at least 3 different styles of HID/LED aftermarket headlamps available (eBay, AliExpress)

I knew ballast were needed for HID and most manufacturers mount them someplace they can get good cooling. Wild that Jeep has them in the assembly. So do the ballast have circuitry that works with the headlight Canbus or might there be programming involved? If it is bolt in plug and go then that might be a future mod I do after/if the prices start to drop.

No clue, I've pondered buying a used (usually damaged brackets) OEM HID/LED headlamp off eBay to try and confirm but haven't felt the need to waste some money yet lol.
