TPM Sensor relearn procedure

Hi, all
I have a question about TPMS relearn procedure. I have owner manual but not have repair manual.
From the ower manual that says
"To reactivate the TPMS, replace all four
wheel and tire assemblies (road tires) with
tires equipped with TPM sensors. Then, drive
the vehicle for up to 20 minutes above
15 mph (24 km/h). The TPMS will chime, the
"TPM Telltale Light" will flash on and off for
75 seconds and then turn off. The instrument
cluster will display the “SERVICE TPM SYSTEM”message"...

About relearn procedure,to relearn the new sensors ID and their locations,
1.Is it necessary to use tool like ATEQ VT56 to trigger new sensors before driving?
2.Does the repair manual describe anything different from the owner manual about the procedure?
3.If the location is wrong , what should I do?

Just install the wheels. They self program. Nothing you do other than buy the sensors and have em installed in the wheel.

Sometimes it takes more than 20 minutes for them to be recognized too!

When I put my winter tires/rims on I was surprised that it took over 100 kms, and almost the whole day for them to register! They finally did, but I was getting concerned. It had never taken that long with any previous vehicles I owned with TPMs
