See the Compass before it arrives

Jeep launched a new app called the Jeep Compass Visualiser in selected markets in Europe. It basically lets you see the exterior and interior of the Compass before they actually arrive on showroom floors and potential buyers can configure it to their specifications. I guess it's good for locking in sales before the actual product has arrived.

That's actually pretty clever. I remember Infiniti did some VR thing for their Q30 but I think you had to go to the dealership or event to see it. With this, anyone can check it out from the comfort of their own home.

Even sit in your existing compass if you have one and spot the differences from a first hand point of view

It's good if you purchase vehicles based on looks, but I would prefer to sit inside a car and see how it feels inside. There's only so much pictures can show you.

For sure, it's always best to get in there physically. But for the times that you can't, this gives you something to do.

Its never a one stop solution but what it is instead; to capture potential buyers.
Once someone is more educated on the product through an experience like this, they have higher odds of buying, anyone truly serious about buying will make sure they see one in person.

The Compass being a high volume product for the brand shouldn't be hard to make that happen before they sign off on a purchase.

Nope, the way they dealt with the Compass was perfect to get the buyers, even at the shows they had them wide open and showcased. Toyota on the other hand brought their C-HR and kept it all shut closed, stupid imho.

Anyhow, getting to an event to see it or showroom, very easy process and will obviously get done if you really want one.

Here is a video of it in action, seems laggy when they're walking around the augmented Compass but that's probably because it's updating real time.

Starting to think that what tech like this could mean is Jeep moving its reps to positions that better deal with getting us to like the brand; off road drives, parking lot challenges, etc.

Making use of technology to draw in the potential crowd is actually a pretty darned smart idea that Jeep is pulling right now. I think that it should actually be implemented for most cars so that people can get a better idea of what their cars are going to look like with certain things installed or not. Most importantly, the app needs to show the final price though. Otherwise the company will never end up with the sale in their pocket because people are too busy playing around with the configuration and not willing to pay up at the end of the day!

That's a pretty good suggestion, essentially a build page on their phones with the final pricing/lease so they can take and add what's needed to meet their budget.

Given how simple the setup seems to be odds are it can be easily moved into a mall setting, basically it can be remote, setup anywhere Jeep wishes it to be setup.

I know that car makers are looking to reach out to people more than people reach out to them, this is one of many ways.
