Question Switching stock radios?

I have a 2007 Jeep Compass Limited. Does anyone know if it is possible to swap stereos from the 6 disc/MP3 to the single disc with the auxiliary jack? It's insane that the upgraded system doesn't have the aux jack.

Dont quote me 100% but I remember seeing this on a cobalt forum when I had mine and was looking to do the same because the year thatcame out after mine, they put a aux spot in the front of the radio and im like what the hell..but basically the guy got the female end of the aux cable..spliced it into his speaker cable. Plug it up to your phone ,play music and should come out through your speakers..like I said. Dont quote me 100% probably a better way if your option 1 doesnt work out. But kind of get what im talking about though?

Yeah I see what yoiu are saying. I talked with the parts guys at the dealership and in their opion, as long as the connections on the back of the radio are the same I shouldn't have a problem switching stereos.

Seriously this is a question? This is like asking can you change the tires on your jeep to ones with white lettering...

Well I agreed but then again they do weird things. That unit with the Aux jack it fine for MP3 players but if you plan to play MP3 CD's you WILL NOT see titles, folder and no way to select the songs in the CD. I found out the hard way. Even though MP3 players portable ones had info screens on them 10 years earlier. Jeep never had the chip enabled to read the data. All you'll see is Track #1, 2,....100 etc on the screen. LOL

I no longer play them in the Jeep even though I could click 40 times until I found the song I was looking for. LOL

NOTE: According to the manual it is suppose to do it but does not. I had a good fight with a couple of dealer and Jeep on this. I lost and most of their specialist have no idea what MP3 was all about and had ID Tags !!
