Pictures of new Receiver Install and Sirius tuner.

Just installed a new Pioneer DEH P4900ib receiver. It looks great, the silver on the receiver matches perfect with the Compass's silver trim. I used a metra dash kit. I liked this kit better than the other dash kit without the extra pocket. I used the extra pocket to hold my ipod. I drilled a hole in the back and ran the Pionner Ipod connector threw it. I also installed a Pioneer SIR PNR1 tuner. I placed the sirius tuner on the floor under the shifter, it fit perfect there. I ran the antenna wire from the back, it was pretty simple just tucked it under the trim pieces. I wired both the 12 volt wire from the receiver and Sirius tuner to the cigarette plug. Overall the install was pretty easy. I got instructions on removing the stock stereo from jeepforum.com, http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=378453

Great pics. I actually have a queston. I am going to be ordering my 2008 Compass shortly. I had been thinking of getting Sirius with the car. Mainly to have a factory installed antenna. I currently have a Starmate Replay with a lifetime sub that I use at home and with my Matrix.

But the pics you took look like Jeep just installs a magnetic antenna just like I have now. I just thought it might be a dash mounted. I really like my Starmate, and don't really want to pay for another sub. But I hate having the wires running around like I do now. I have hid them as best I could but am still on the fence.

2008's have Sirius with a year of service standard don't they? Ask your dealer, I know the Patriots do.

Maybe a stupid question....

But with the factory installed Sirius is there a way to switch it out with an XM tuner and still use the factory installed antenna?

Pictures of new Receiver Install and Sirius tuner

Hi all,

Im sure this has been covered on here before, but I couldnt get any results from the search. I have the stock MACH 300 stereo, with the CD-6 Head Unit, and I know that it has both a SAT button and an AUX button. Can I get a factory installation kit and receiver/tuner for Sirius from Ford and plugplay with the stock HU? If I can do this without needing a seperate control module on the windsheild or the dash, or an aftermarket deck with Sat control, thatd be great. Im going to try and avoid overhauling the stereo in this vehicle as long as I can, as Id rather spend the money in the resto and customizing of my other truck...

Thanks

that looks super clean...a rough guestimate - how much did that cost? I would like to do something like that, but I am not looking to spend a bunch of money...Thanks
