Double din woes in a 2015 Sport

Been trying to install a Kenwood Nav double din today, I have 2 different mounting kits, and both suck:

This one was recommended on the forum:

The problem is that the bezel is too big to fit thru the stock radio mounting hole. Besides, the bezel is almost 1" in depth; there is NWIH this would work.

This one was recommended by a local stereo shop: Normally $40, "on sale" for only $20...

But when you tighten down the screws sufficiently to hold the radio, it distorts the plastic front side pieces - and the top to bottom fit is off over 1/4" as well.

It looks like this one might work, as it is a slightly different style, with a big enough FLAT plate to go over and mount to the radio sides, and then the stock facia goes on from the outside.

Anybody else had problems with this?

Try Crutchfield for finding parts.. I have a 2014 model and installed a Double-din myself.. their website was spot on with the parts I needed. It was the smoothest install.

BTW, don't over tighten the screws, it just needs to be snug. you said that the plastic tends to warp.. I'm pretty sure I had this same kit, and I just tightened them down without a lot of resistance. Honestly, it just needs to stay in place. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. After putzing with it a few times - in - out - in - out, turns out about 2/3 the problem was the screws. They just barely engaged, and I had to snug them down to ensued at least a good thread of holding. Went to my local ACE and got some longer screws as well as some fender washers. It does indeed fit better now,

Part of the other problem was that the brace I cut out was just barely preventing the radio from "tipping enough; causing a gap on the bottom. Another 1/8" from each side did it.

It fits better; but still has slightly uneven gaps at the edges. I may try and pull it once more and use some washer shims to move it over a bit.

Again, thanks.
