Hi guys,
first I wanted to thank w4rh4wk for the pictures and nice descriptions.
Long story short. My father in law has a Jeep Compass ( It's a 2011 like this
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...-21-2012_1.JPG). He only has the standard CD-radio.
He lives in Canada by the way and I am from Germany. I am sorry in advance for any spelling or grammar mistakes

.
I wanted to get at least a double - din (which fills both slots) Radio with color display, so that I can connect the third party rearview camera.
A.) Is there any radio with navigation below 200 CAD (incl. tax) available in Canada/US? I guess a european navi wouldn't work properly.
B.) If I dont't get a navi, do you know how hard it would be to install this?:
AUTORADIO MIT 18cm/7" 2DIN TOUCHSCREEN DVD/CD-PLAYER USB SD MP3 BLUETOOTH DOPPEL | eBay
It comes with an ISO connect cable. But I really don't know if I would need a radio wiring harness, and if so which one. Does anyone know, if I could connect the steering remote to the radio?
Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
Christian
EDIT: I did some more research and found the
metra-dash kit which w4rh4wk used.
D.) Why do I need this? Is the factory radio not the standard witdh or is w4rh4wk's pioneer not the standard width?
The links from w4rh4wk show only the amazon search results, but not a separate article.
E.) Would
this antenna adapter work?
F.) I guess I would not nee an "Radio Replacement Interface" (part 3 mentioned in the original post), as the choosen radio does not have navigation etc.?!
