Just changed oil in my jeep. clean the engine? what to use?

I just change the oil & filter in my jeep.
I used: SuperS oil 5W20 and a mopar oil filter.

I was preatty easy.

Im looking to change air filter, spark plugs and change oil again in 7000kms.

I have a question. What to use to clean the engine? when i removed the cover of the engine to get better access to the oil cap i realise that the engine is preatty dirty, lots of dust.

what to use? any degreaser? or just blow air? water?

I just spray my whole engine compartment with diluted Simple Green and rinse it with a garden hose. I do mine about once a month. I wipe all the water from under the hood area everytime I wash it which is usually 2 or 3 times a week.

+1 on Simple green I do this on both my cars about once every 2 months. Make sure car is cold when you spray it. After your done you can let it run 10min to dry it all out.

Yes simple green works great. I use it too. After I wash the engine I dry it by blowing air from a vacuum cleaner to make sure that water does not cause any problems to any electrical stuff.
