2017 Jeep Compass Latitude 4x4 braking question

Hello,

I just purchased this 2017 Jeep Compass Latitude 4x4 and have noticed that when I let off the accelerator that a lot times it does not coast but begins braking or what seems like braking maybe downshifting on its own, whatever it is it slows the vehicle more than a natural roll. Is this normal or is there something I can adjust to stop this?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

I have a 2016 with the CVT and it does the same thing; sometimes it suddenly jerks and I hate it.

Garage
sounds like engine braking
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine_braking

its been around for a while, it actually helps a vehicle maintain speed going downhill

our compass sport 2wd has a Jan. 2018 production date and does the same thing, but usually within the first 3-5 minutes of driving, then all is normal. every once and a while it will buck and hunt for a gear on deceleration, nothing too annoying, yet ...
