I've got 3,000km on my Compass so far. Keep in mind it's not broken in yet. Mileage will vary for a while.

I got 30mpg (Imperial) on one highway trip (that's 25mpg for you US folks). On another highway trip I went into a strong wind so I won't count that mileage. On the other highway trip I got 27 mpg (Imp), 22 US mpg.

As for city mileage, I'm averaging about 23 mpg (Imp), or 19 mpg US.

So far it's not hitting the 28 city / 34 highway Imperial mpg, but it's not broken in, and the highway trips are all with 4 people. Also, I'm not babying the Jeep.

We'll see if my mileage gets better. It's without a doubt better than the V8 Ford F150 I had before. I was getting 15 city, 23 highway before.

First Fill-up

When we picked up our Compass it had 149km on it and the dealer filled it. Providing the dealer filled it right to the top here's what we have on our first fill.
Km's Driven: 333
Litres to fill: 37
Works out to: 11 l/100km

Old School
Miles Driven: 207
Gallons to fill: 10
Works out to: 22mpg

All numbers have been rounded out.

I can't wait to see what it's like when it's broken in. All this driving was city driving going from the West End of Vancouver over the Lions Gate Bridge everyday. Saved between $11.00 - $15.00 for the same mileage on our Liberty.

BTW our gas is 99.9 p/l right now.

We had a chance to do a road trip on Vancouver Island. We traveled from Vancouver to Tofino. The round trip is about 415 km's or 257 Miles. Although it was all Hwy driving it was mountainous with speeds from 90 km (55mph) to 30 km (15mph) in a heart beat. Needless to say we put our Compass throught it's paces. There were four adults in the Jeep. Getting to Tofino we drove speed limit and enjoyed the breath taking views. On the way back the weather turned on us and got ugly! To top things off we were about to miss the last ferry back to the mainland, needless to say we have now experience how well the stabilization feature works. It was like driving a sports car and trust me I couldn't fault the Compass on anything. I've driven many vehicles (I use to drive for a living using excutive sedans for private VIP protection services) Long story short, I was expecting to get really bad gas mileage. When we tanked it back up, it turned out we did 25.8 MPG. Needless to say once our baby is broken in (I think the drive might have done that One last thing, The car is not as sluggish off the line anymore and the transmission doesn't have the jerk on re-acceleration. We're very happy with the milage!

Wow good story to hear bear! So far I have been happy with the way it's been driving for me, a little different as it's my first car to sit up so high, but so far it's been fun, and actually a lot more responsive than my Mazda 6, and I use to think that was one of the better handling car I have had.

I must admit I was expecting better gas mileage, but then for it's class from what I have read it is getting great gas mileage (once again, this is my first car of this type so not sure what to expect)

One thing I have noticed is really how much sitting in traffic hurts your mileage.

So far I was getting about 22 to 24 MPG, well the last few days the baby has been up late (and very early) and I got a late start to work, and got stuck in the morning rush hour traffic and my MPG went down from 17 to 20

I've been driving mine for about 5 days now. I have about 500 km on the counter.

So far I'm doing about 12.4 liters per 100 km in city, about 19 mpg if you're still not like the rest of the world By the way, I would say I'm an aggressive driver style

On the highway, I'm doing about 9.3 liters per 100 km, about 25 mpg, on the cruise control, about 115 km/h (71 mph).

So far winter had still not arrived here. Temperature has been around 4 degree celsius, about 39 fahrenheit (please do something about that, ISO has to be accepted someday in America too, hehehe)

By the way, I would like to thank my sponsor, Google, for all the "Rest of the World" to "United States" free and fast conversions hehehehe I hope that guys from Nasa are actually taking notes here instead of burning up another satellite in Mars atmosphere one day because of this ISO conversion thing
