So I’ve trolled the site looking for an answer to this finally decided to join.

2014 Jeep Compass Sport 2.4 L Automatic

I knew there were some issues when I bought it.

The tailgate light switch was bad so I disconnected it. Issue solved.

Rear wheel hubs were loud, replaced those.

Then it became difficult to fill up. Tried replacing the canister no dice. Did some research and tried blowing the vacuum lines out. That set off the CEL and two codes popped up P0171 p2066. Bad fuel sending unit side B.

New fuel pump side A you can get from $50 to $100 Side B sending unit is more expensive $150 to $200. Shopped around bought a set of used for $71 from a recycler. Took about an hour. Problem solved.

I had this issue on my 2009 compass. It would burp fuel back out of the filler neck and onto you if you put the nozzle at full blast, meaning you had to fill it very slowly. It started doing this shortly after I bought it about a year ago. Since then I've replaced the filler neck and that fixed the issue up until very recently where as soon as it reached below 40 degrees, I started to have the issue of the nozzle shutting off immediately as soon as I start fueling. Im not sure what could be causing the fueling system to start doing this. Does anyone have any ideas?

Garage
looks like you have a blockage on the vent tube. spiders and other bugs are known to get in and block the passage.
