How is the reliability on the 2011 Compass? I've been reading mixed reviews. My Compass now has ~57,000 miles on it and I am considering buying a new 2015 Cherokee Trailhawk.
My compass has never had any issues and all I have done is your typical 3-5k oil change and tire rotation, but it is time to start doing some fixes. I need new tires, new brake pads (assuming since they haven't been touched), and a 60k service. Again, I've never owned a car with this many miles, and this is my first Jeep.
We are thinking of doing a 2-3 month road trip around the Western USA national parks, up to banff/jasper in Canada and out to Alaska. Reliability is a huge concern. Do you think this compass will be able to go another 25-30k miles without any major repairs?
Cost isn't really a concern, the Trailhawk is stickered at $36k and with jeep/dealer discounts comes down to $30k. Monthly payments would be the same as the Compass, just extended for another 4 years. Obviously it would be nice to not have the car payment, but at the same time we don't want to start getting into reliability issues with the Compass.
Tough decision since I love the Compass, but don't want it to start becoming a money pit.
