07 Compass Engine Loud When Cold, Hesitates to Start?

Hey all,

So Ive had my Compass for about 5 days now, and I'm loving it! My only concern is that when I go to start it, it seems a little hesitant to start. There's about a 1.5 second delay between the key turning and the engine starting.

When it first starts it's noisy as hell and seems slugish. The engine revs at almost 2.8k RPM trying to get up to 50KM/h.

After it's been driving for a while and it warms up, I can turn it off for a few minutes and turn it on without issue, which makes me believe it's just the cold weather (typically -15C to -20C). Everything in general just seems a bit stiff.

The oil was changed when I bought it from dealership.

Is this typical for the Compass line up?

Mine did the same thing. It's kinda normal with these cold temperatures. Every car does that.

Definitely sounds like just a cold weather issue, happens to me, even down here in LA lol.

Well I haven't started mine much at those temp. It in a garage overnight and does not get too cold. But I haven't noticed that problem here. If you just got it you might bring it to the dealers attention. Make sure it has the latest software/firmware flash which has been updated a number of times. If its a generic dealer they won't know or have don't it. The PCM controls all that thats why the latest software is important to verify is in place.
