Welcome to the forum. Too bad you didn't visit this forum earlier, because the rusty subframes have been a discussion topic for awhile now. When I saw posts on the Jeep Patriot website it had the subframe checked on my '08 Patriot. Fortunately, even after 10 New England winters, and well past 250,000 miles, mine was still solid. Not every Patriot/Compass had this problem, and road salt seems to have nothing to do with it.
I agree that for 5 days they oughta do something for you. Then again, they have to draw the line somewhere. Try reaching out to JeepCares on this website. Send them a PM.
You might try another dealer who might fudge, (uh, adjust
) the date for you. Back in the 1970s my Volare blew the alternator about a dozen miles after my warranty expired and my dealer said, 'no problem.' Because they did that, they got to sell me another Volare a few years later when I got married.
If FCA won't help, then try an independent shop. They'll probably charge a lot less than a dealer. I've seen some posts where people got their rust fixed for half your quoted price. Shop around. But try JeepCares first.
