I've been wondering how long it would take for them to do this. Inventory levels for the compass and caliber have been relatively high for a long time.

Hopefully the new owners will be more judicious about production as opposed to the full steam ahead by the ex german overlord morons.

Not sure yet. I spoke to the dealer this morning and he's looking into it.

Wow it's like you wrote this:

http://www.rrstar.com/business/x1429061040

Best Part:

"So far this year, workers have built 119,986 Calibers and dealers have sold 94,488 or 78.8 percent.
The Compass, easily the least liked by analysts, is even holding its own with dealers selling 38,764 of the 51,562 that have been built this year ó 75.2 percent.
Dealers have only moved 24,496 of the 66,899 Patriots built in 2007. Thatís just 36.6 percent."

That's interesting since the media generally trashed the Compass and generally gave good reviews to the Patriot. The Caliber was somewhere in between in media treatment.

We had originally looked at the Caliber. One of the reasons we didn't go for it was the number of them on the street already. I had bought a 95 Neon in 94 and was one of very few on the street. Within 6 months the streets were filthy with them.

A comment a buddy of mine said was the Calibur was the Neon replacement.

Well it is the Neon replacement in the fact that the Neon was the lowest priced vehicle in the Chrysler fleet and now the Caliber is but the 2 are very different vehicles.
I have a 2002 Neon and so far so good.
