2007 Jeep Compass Crossmember rott

I have a 2007 Compass with 100,000 miles on it and while driving down the road the rear corossmember broke. When I looked under the vehicle I was in aww to see the crossmember rotted completely in half. I did some checking on the replacement part when I learned that there is actually an extended warranty on this model. Mine was manufactured in April of 2007. Any ideas on how to proceed with the warranty and does anyone know if it covers just the crossmember and or any other parts that will probably need to be changed during repairs??

I believe the warranty starts from the in service date ie when it was purchased, not from when it was manufactured. The extended warranty is 10 years so it may or may not still be under warranty. If not covered it is still worthwhile to pursue it with FCA as they may allow it since it is close.
