New 2018 Compass Trailhawk mods?

Hello,

I am relatively new to these forums and read a few articles on mods others are trying. What I am looking to do is as follows,

Tires - More agressive tread, Tire shop suggested going with a 16" wheel to make room for a "Truck" Tire Ie:Cooper AT3's

Brush guard or Grill ? Hard time finding any due to the newness

Mudflaps- which I believe I will go with OEM ones

Roof Rails- 275 from mopar?

Roof Racks- Suggestions?

Windows - Rain guards? (Never use them in the past, worth while)

Taking suggestions on all of the above and ideas for other things

Its true that the selection of AT tires that are made in appropriate sizes for the stock rims are a bit scarce but I wouldn't trade the look of my stock rims for anything. I don't know if you got the 17 inch or the 18 inch, I can tell you the selection is VERY slim for the 18 inch rims (like, two tires) but I still would not give them up. I'm probably going to get a set of these before next winter: Geolandar A/T G015 225/55/R18

I haven't heard of any custom made/fit to the second generation compass yet. Currently universal or custom built are the options, AFAIK. I haven't been paying too close attention there though because I don't plan to put one on mine, not the right look for the Limited trim.

--------

Everything else you described is OEM/Mopar stuff the dealer could get for you, I don't really consider any of this stuff you are talking about as true "mods", just the regular stuff every other owner everywhere does because somehow a brand new vehicle off the lot is never good enough for us and there is still too much money leftover in our wallets from the great value these Compasses are.

Mud flaps I am going to order and install this spring, the plastic trim along the bottom holds dirt better than I thought it would and already feels like someone hit it with sandpaper in a couple places, so I wish I would have had those from the get-go.

Roof rails you should already have stock? I don't understand what you are talking about there.

Roof rack only if you are going to use it for something OTHER THAN stupid extra LED lights. If you have skis, or a snowboard, or a kayak, etc then its a no-brainer. If you don't have any of that stuff and you put up a rack for looks and/or lights all it does is lower MPG, make it harder to clean the roof, and screams "poser" (IMHO).

You can do anything you want to your Compass. My rules for myself on mine is anything I do has to be functional and serve a purpose.

BFG KO2 225/65/17 will fit with no issues and will be cheaper since you don't have to buy wheels

'18 Trailhawk here as well and I swapped out my tires for the Yokohama Geolandar G015 (225/65-17) that arudlang mentioned. Very happy so far; didn't notice any additional road noise and they should last up to 60k. Wet/snow performance is excellent too (enough to earn the industry snowflake emblem). They're slightly bigger (0.25" extra ground clearance) but no rubbing.

I liked the K02's a lot and may have paid the extra $ had they not been so much heavier than the stock Falkens -- 38lbs vs Falken 27lbs, whereas the Yoko's were only 30. Considering the 2.4L engine's a bit strained to begin with, and that at this size they're P (Passenger) so not quite as rugged as the LT sizes, I felt the G015 was a good compromise.

A lot of the things you are asking here have been discussed. With a little searching you will find your answers.
The tires size 225-65-17 fit well and don't stick out. only 1/2" wider and 1/2" taller. Hope that helps
