What's up with the lizard?

What's up with the molded lizard on the trim below the windshield wipers?

Garage
Just one of many easter eggs hidden on the vehicle, My favorite is the Serpent/Leviathan in the back window. Which I think is only visible from inside looking back. I noticed when I using the rearview and was like " Oh cool"

I heard someone say the lizard Gecko and signifies the the grip these Jeeps have with it's 4wd system. I don't know how true this is but makes some sense.

I saw that in the rear view mirror as well, but I wasn't sure what it was.

I was talking to a co-worker about my new Compass the day after I bought it and he had mentioned the Easter Eggs.. Ironically I noticed the serpent while looking in the rearview mirror that day on my way home from work. When I do my first wash and wax/detailing duty, I'll be keeping my eyes open to see what else is there!
