Sub frame

Hi I'm new to this site and was curious I've seen different things regarding sub frame rot for the jeep compass, I have a 2007 and was told my frame needs to be redone due to being rotten. Does anyone know about this or who I would contact to see if mine is still under this recall

It was not a recall: it was a 10 year extended warranty offered to original owners. Since yours is a 2007 its 12 going on 13 so I doubt you'll get any help. A franchised Jeep dealer could better advise you than I can. If you've been a regular customer at your dealership they may work to keep your cost down even if its not covered. Don't lose heart, however. I've seen where people are getting their subframes fixed for $1000-$1200; maybe a little less at an independent shop. Not cheap, but not the end of the world either.

There is a possibility the shop may find other things wrong while they're in there. Here is where you need a trusted shop to give you honest advice. If other things also need fixing, its cheaper to do it while its already apart. On the other hand a dishonest shop might try to sell you extra work that you don't need. I've read of owners getting the warranty work done free and then handed a substantial bill for additional work, so you need to be consulting with a reputable shop.

Garage
Both of my Saturns had sub frames replaced (1994 SL1, 2003 VUE) and ran them both for more years so the repair was worth it.

Thank u for your replies, I just finished purchasing it about a month ago, bought it used from a dealer place, took me just over 4 years of payments and some headaches lol. My timing belt went on it the day before I was about to buy it out (bad luck) lol. Now I need the frame, sway bars and tie rods so was hoping for the frame rot thing that I would get some good luck and it might've been covered. So had to ask, thank u again
