Tire pressure system

When I got my Compass almost a month to the day ago it was 95F outside.

This morning when I went to work it was 65F.

When I went out to lunch today it was 45F (coldest it's been all year) and as soon as I turned the car on the Tire pressuer system started beeping at me that the tire pressure was low.

I got a little worried there for a minute, the car is not even a month old and I am getting a tire warning message!!

Well 1st thing I did was read the manual and it said in cold weather the pressure goes down. Sure enough when I got home and checked the pressure with a (very good guage I must admit) and in fact it was a little low.

I inflated the tires to the recommended specs and the monitoring system was happy

Got to love the sudden weather changes here in Texas, and I hate to think of all the wasted MPG I have lost in the past never thinking about the sudden change in weather and how it affects the tire pressure.

Once again another PLUS for the Jeep compass /cheer

All I can say is LMAO!!

Try Alberta, and the Chinook Winds if you want 'real' temperature changes!

BTW, the tire sensor guages get less reliable the colder they get from what I am told... (The service guys at my dealership hate them actually)
