That ok for bags and such. But anything heavy is either too much for the roof to handle. Or the ability to get it up there is near impossible and damage to the roof getting off highly likely. I use a in the hitch rear carrier platform which can handle 300lbs and you're not lifting it above your waste to get it loaded. No wind drag either like putting stuff on top will always affect gas millage on the highway.
