Kevin.........first let me welcome you to the forum and I'm amaze at someone's first question .......tell us more about yourself and your ride..............

To answer your question..........you open the hood and wash it down with a simple garden hose or a high pressure washer and some elbow grease............Good luck !!!

im a detailer ive done various engine details. all you need is a bottle of degreaser and a bottle of water. DONT wash it down with a hose.. or our cars atleast. i got into this argument with someone before and i was like ok mb its ok. i washed my engine at home started the compass tcs light and airbag light stayed on for about 20min. i have never recommended it and i definitely wont use hose water to clean an engine again.

Welcome to the forum! I usually just wipe things down after an oil change with my last series of shop towels. It kind of adds some "sheen" to the engine compartment.

Welcome!!
I usually mixed some dish soap and hot water in a spray bottle, also had a bucket with a few rinse rags soaking in it, then just sprayed a spot, scrubed it, then with the rinse rag wrung out, (this is to avoid water dripping all over the place), rinse it, then dry it.
Have fun!
