Congrats on your new Compass! I have a bit of a horror story with my new one, but I still love it!
I went to our dealership in late January and test drove one and loved it. I was going from a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport, but I travel a lot for work, so I needed something with 4x4 and was more dependable on snow and such....but I didn't want to sacrifice mpg...so the Compass was a great option for me! They had a silver one on the lot and it didn't have all of the options I wanted, so we looked through some close dealerships inventory and found one with everything I wanted, in Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearl, Lattitude 4x4...and it was only 150 miles away. They called the dealership that showed it in inventory and it hadn't arrived yet, but they had gotten the invoice for it and they said they would sell it. I was told 3-4 days and they had me sign the paperwork on 1/31 so that the 2.9% interest rate offered through Jeep would apply. So, I bought it....and I waited....and waited....and a week passed...still no jeep. 2 weeks passed....still no jeep. 3 weeks passed...still no jeep. I was getting pretty angry at 3 weeks. My poor car guy was getting calls from me every day wondering where it was...and because i'd already signed the papers, I couldn't just say screw it and move on down the road and find something else. Finally, after 4 weeks, I started calling customer service at chrysler. I called on a Thursday and was promised it'd be there on Monday. Monday came and went...no jeep. So they tried to make me feel better by throwing in a 2 yr service agreement. It took the edge off the frustration, but by this point, i'd spent a good 5 hrs on the phone w/customer service in a handfull of days, and NO ONE could tell me where in the world my jeep was. Finally, I said...this is rediculous....I want all of the paperwork reversed and I don't want the Jeep anymore....it'd been almost 5 weeks at that point and I was just done. The last guy I spoke with drove me to tears and I was just done. Low and behold, if you say you don't want it anymore....things move a lot faster. That was last Tuesday, and I had it last Thursday 3/3. Now that I finally have it, was it worth the wait???
Well, I do love it. It's SOOOO pretty. I can't tell you the packages I got, but I did get the sun and sound group, the package that comes with daytime running lights, all weather floor mats, engine heater, a pinstripe.....and other stuff. It didn't have uconnect, but i'm getting that installed aftermarket for a VERY reasonable fee. I REALLY wanted daytime running lights....but it kind of stinks that you have to turn the headlights on anyway to get any dash lights....so it really kind of defeats the purpose for me.
In a week, i've put 800 miles on it traveling for business...and I've been getting an average of 25-27mpg. The only thing I noticed was that it does seem kind of noisy when I accelerate. And I didn't really realize when I bought it how much cargo space I was giving up with my Fusion.
So, yeah. I do LOVE it. I just hope what everyone says about the reliability and repairs aren't true. I'll only have it 3 years, so I hope I won't run into any of that stuff anyway.
