First post! first JEEP

Hey guys

bought my wife a 2011 Jeep Compass North Edition with 60,000 KM

I own a 2014 ram 1500 ecodiesel with 150,000km (tuned and deleted of course)

Seems like a nice community here. I like to do all the maintenance on my own vehicles. I'll be popping in and out of the DIY sections, they seem very helpful. My main concern with these SUVs is the transmission. is there any way to prolong the life seems like they are the #1 suspect. I'll be doing a transmission service on it right away.

also what do you guys recommend for service on these SUV's. I dont mind doing a bit extra if it helps in the long run.

thanks
eddy.

Main concern with the CVTs seems to be overheating, but as far as I know they have a normal service life. I have a friend who has a 2010 Patriot with over 220,000 kms and it seems fine. If I personally had a CVT I'd be looking into a better fluid cooler and some way to monitor the temp, not just wait for the light to come on.

Welcome to the forums, I've always typically just used any universal transmission coolers and mounted them up front but I tried doing a search and couldn't find one that was specific for the Compass unfortunately.
