Hi every one! I purchased a Compass 2019 few months ago and I having issues with the mpg only 16.8, I think that it is too low and I always as the gas station. Does anyone have these situation with the mpg
Regards,
I was getting an easy 30MPG on the highway. If I kept it below 60MPH and didn't make it work hard it could approach 40MPG. [See attached photo]. That was on a trip from Colebrook to Berlin NH, about 50 miles, open roads, and at a pretty consistent 55MPH except for a couple small towns where I had to slow down a little. While the roads go through the mountains, I was on state roads with reasonable grades.
I'm sorry Jose, I forgot to welcome you to the forum. Welcome! I hope you can find a way to improve your fuel economy.
I should also remind you that a brand new engine takes a while to break in. Your oil consumption will be high at first but will gradually decline. You won't be getting your best fuel economy until around 10,000 miles. Meanwhile, take your Compass for a nice long ride without stops and starts and see what you get for mileage then.
And don't forget you must manually reset the gas mileage display each time you refill with fuel. Other cars I had (Honda) would automatically reset the tank average when you refueled but our Compass does not, so if you don't reset it you will be looking at your lifetime average and if that includes the first few miles of the car's life idling and being toodled around at the dealership then your average will be skewed low. Check the owner's manual for the specifics of how the fuel economy display works and how to reset it.
Yes, I am getting 15.6 on my 2019 Compass that was purchased a few months ago. I bought it with 7220 mi on it. It was part of a dealer fleet. I noticed "Trip A" indicated 7220 mi at 22.7 mpg. That looked good to me! After three tanks of gas I found that I was getting 15.6mi to the gal. I drive in the sub-burbs, very little highway and no city. So after reading this forum I went on the Highway. The mileage per gallon went up to 23.2 after 3 hours of driving at 55 to 65 mph. I think I could have gotten more mpg's out of it but stopped because the point was made. It can get 23 plus mpg. This vehicle is advertised 22 city and 30 highway. So I took it to the dealer today, for poor gas mileage and they did nothing. They indicated No Problem Found, unable to duplicate customers complaint at this time. So I suggested that if you looked a the Center Display where the Average MPG is you will see 17 ave. mpg. They explain how that means nothing since the 22 to 30 numbers are created in environmentaly controlled wind tunnels.
I average around 25 MPG with my compass with daily driving and I can get 30 plus on the highway, I have a six speed manual 4x4, just curious, do you have an automatic, if so how Han gears, 6 or 9?
I am getting 23 MPG average combined and 31 MPG on the highway. Straight city can drop to a 17-18 MPG rate. Just relying on the vehicle's computer.
