Exclamation All-New 2017 Compass Exterior Design Explored

LED Lighting

Jeep recently started one of the first of many phases towards rolling out the redesigned 2017 Compass by launching this page, outlining some tidbits of information and visuals to go with them. The most appealing out of all are the points on exterior design.

Helping to modernize new era of Compass CUV's are LED daytime running lights and an LED lighting strip:

Quote:
Front headlamp options feature details like distinctive daytime running lamps with an available LED lighting strip. The main projector beam headlamps illuminate automatically when night falls or the sky darkens with storms.

Rear Lighting

If the standard taillamps aren't enough of a change for you, Jeep's new LED Signature Taillamps will be the way to go. They do a better job of complementing the overall rear end design and give the Compass a higher-end feel.

Quote:
The All-New Compass features taillamps that blend form with function. The taillamps mold themselves perfectly to the sweeping curves of the Compass, offering a distinct look that stands out – both in design and on the road. Standard features include remote rear reflex and fog options, with an available premium option for LED lighting.

Headlamp Design

Jeep aimed to give these "eyes" as much personality as possible along with giving you the option of bright white accents, premium High Intensity Discharge projectors or (our favorite) the signature LED lighting (only available on Limited).

Quote:
Strong, confident curves and stylish accents transform the headlamps on the All-New Compass from purely functional into design statements. The standard quad halogen reflector can be customized with available bright white accents, premium High Intensity Discharge projectors (Latitude, Trailhawk®, Limited) or signature LED lighting (Limited).

Wheel Options

With all the bases Jeep covered on wheel design odds are most owners will be content with whats being offered. If you've been watching Jeep for a few years, what you see here follows the design DNA you've been used to, just done in a way unique to the Compass.

True To Jeep

Although this was never a concern, it helps to highlight certain areas Jeep worked on to ensure the redesigned Compass remains or builds on the ruggedness we've been used to with not only the Compass, but other Jeep products as well.

Quote:
Signature Grille
The signature seven-slot grille is an unmistakable exterior element that pays homage to our proud history.

Distinctive Wheel Arches
Since 1941, trapezoidal wheel arches have been a distinctive element found in the design of every Jeep® Brand vehicle.

Rugged And Trail-Ready
Features include available Best-in-Class ground clearance and approach, departure and breakover angles, plus signature ruby red front and rear tow hooks.

Taking many cues from the Jeep GC, this is a successful look in my opinion. We should be seeing a bump in sales because of this and especially love the headlight designs.

WOW! It's amazing how far the Compass has come since first coming out 10 years ago. This new model year has really proven what Jeep is capable of making in the Compact market, I can't wait to see these on the roads!

The compass definitely has come a long way from the plain circular headlights, but just how much more would the LED lights cost? I'm really liking the white accents in the light.
