Does the standard CD player, play mp3 files? Or do you need to get the 6 disc changer to get that option?

|rommel543||We were looking at getting the Aux plug as well to plug our MP3 Players in. We got our Compass off the lot and it didn't have the plug, but it came with 1 year of Sirius. Honestly, all I listen to now is Sirius. I rarely start my mp3 player of listen to mp3s on my computer... Sirius all the way.|

I just picked up my compass today. I wanted the mp3 plug in, but you can't have it with the 6 disc cd player. Therefore, I had them switch it out for a single disc with the mp3 plug in.

I'm the exact opposite, i replaced my head unit in my subaru with and after market MP3 deck. I used to burn CD's all the time, until i got my IPod. I don't think i have turned on the CD MP3 since then. Alway cruising around with my IPod plugged in.
When i ordered the compass i made sure to have the IPod in.

The Compass I test drove had the radio with the Ipod plug. The one I bought didn't. I found if you load CD"s with mp3 files the radio plays them just fine. The amount of mp3 files that fit on a cd is tremendous. It's a little little work on the computer, but well worth it. When I burn one I allways make 2. One to play one for a master.
