Viking4949 | This was the reason I came to this forum. I just picked up a 2010, making the exact same noise. I found a safe place to angle it up hill, with the jeep in drive and foot on the brake, I again got the noise. I then reached down and popped the hood. Instantly the noise stopped. It took mw awhile to figure out the sweet spot, but you have to adjust the black screw in hood rests near the headlights. |

Anybody found a solution for the issue? I have the exactly same issue but a problem is that it is hard to show the them because the sound comes randomly on and off. |

Wow, my dealer's service tech said that that was typical, aka "normal" for the CVT![]() |

Let me guess. You drop it into neutral and it magically disappears? I had this issue when I got my compass. Dealership said it was the hood spacers\springs Not adjusted properly. Didn't witness the fix bit I assume that was it as it was only in the shop for about 10 mins. Occasionally still feel a bit of a grumble at a stop light but no where near what it used to be. Likes to pull in gear as well. Probably going to have it checked next oil change and take out another vehicle on the lot to see if it acts the same. Mine has freedom drive ii. |
