smokey01 I like it, I haven't had any problems with it. I wish it had oil pressure on it but other than that it's good. I use the trip function for billing people when I work for them and it works really well. I haven't had an opportunity to use the scan function on it yet so i'm not sure how well it works. I also haven't used the custom tuning function on it simply because I don't know how to program it. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one though.

If anyone in canada is interested the place to order from is posted below. Tom is a great guy and doesn't have any problems helping you out with any problems.

CompassLimited Smoke, you have had your scangauge for a while now. How do you feel about it? Good investment?

smokey01 The gauge works exactly as the manufacturer says it does. The mount wasn't too bad to install, the pillar is held on by one screw and pulls off. If I had to do it again I'd use the 6" mount instead of the 8". There is a little movement in it but nothing too extreme.

Just curious as to how your setup is working. I was thinking on picking one of these up.

smokey01 Yeah, it started out as a small chip in the black part of the windshield and now it's travelling. I read my policy and I can get it replaced for free, just need time to do it.

CompassLimited I didn't mention the crack in the windshield. But thats next on smokes list of upgrades.

smokey01 It can tell you Fuel Economy, Fuel Rate, Battery Voltage, Coolant Temperature, Intake Air Temperature, Engine Speed (RPM), Vehicle speed (MPH), Manifold Pressure (not available on some vehicles), Engine Load, Throttle Position, Ignition Timing, Open/Closed Loop and program in other gauges. It also can work as a full function trip computer, calculating trip cost, maximum RPM and speed, distance till empty, time till empty and fuel remaining. I can also use it as a scan tool to pull codes. Most of the stuff I don't bother with because it doesn't matter but I like the fuel economy, coolant temperature, battery voltage and horsepower gauges as I didn't get the vehicle information centre on my jeep. It's a cool little gauge, and i can move it into any vehicle I want to.

Here's a link to the site for more info.

I also started working for the city here so I'll have 4 parking passes now. My goal is to have them all lined up across the entire bottom of my windshield.

CompassLimited What kind of reports will you be looking at?

Thanks for sharing.

I also think you might need some more parking passes.

smokey01 I ordered and recieved my scangauge2. It came in 48 hours after ordering (impressive for canada post). I plugged it into the OBD port, it synced and was very easy to set up the gauges I wanted on it. I have a little more playing to do with it and a mount to make but I'll post some pics when I get it all tied up.

smokey01 Well i've had some problems with my electronic throttle and the tool tells you the % of throttle the cpu sees, might be handy for that. I'm also a fan of having temperature gauges for coolant and this is an easy way to get it.

i2canoe Seems like a dealership diagnostic tool, if I run into performance troubles I think I would stop at the garage and let them run the test. Expensive, unless you plan on doing all your own maitenance and don't live close to a dealer.

1compass I would say that's it's a good buy the compass is a very solid vehicle when it comes to maintenance free problems? if you forsee your vehicle having serious mechancial problems i'll put it like that

Scangauge2

Has anyone ever heard of the Scangauge? It's supposed to plug into the OBDII port on your vehicle and give you all sorts of information on what's happening with your vehicle and tell you the codes. I'm considering buying one and would like to know anyone else's thoughts on it.
