Cherokee tripplec, I don't think anyone here thinks a situation like that would be funny. The joke seems to be one of those things I experience with other forums I'm on, people sign up to get a question answered and you never see them again. I have to agree with you, though, having the vehicle info handy saves a lot of time. As a staff member on two other forums and moderator on one, I find it very helpful when members either put their vehicle specs in their signature or in their profile, sure saves a lot of time when they post questions because we know what they're working with. Another thing I think is nice, and this doesn't just apply to forums, but to real life because any time you're dealing with people, courtesy should apply, but when people actually introduce themselves to the group and THEN post their question. Guess I just see it as forum etiguette.....

tripplec Well that was his first and only post here.

New members & established one as I even see here should be reminded to create a signature as soon as possible on specifics.
- Year, Make and model of the vehicle
- location
- millage, options or add-on optional

This helps most of us relate to whats being said and how it applies the their vehicle and to other whether similar or not.

Depending where he lives he should report it to the local transportation regulator. The could be a re-callable defect. I would not be happy driving merrily down the road engaged in a great tune on the radio. Then have bang a air bag blow out beside me.
I could easily boarder on a heart attack and/or back-fire out of control having to also head home for a change of underwear.

Don't know about you-all but I would not be laughing.

Lunch Box In reality, the chances of an airbag just simply going off is very low on any vehicle really. Air bags are very carefully made with all kinds of failure safeties and such.

dgage246 I looked on-line and couldn't find anything about airbags going off for a Compass. Or for any other vehicle for that matter.

Non-issue?

I have a feeling it might have been a marketer from Toyota...lol... Trying to level the playing field so to speak... Smokey1 you probably really hurt him with that Toyota comment!

Of course I could be wrong so the best thing is for pureblue0229 to give us some more details...

What year is your Compass?

Thanks for the info PB!

Could you please post more info about your particular model. The year, tranny type, engine size, and FWD vs. AWD would be helpful.

Thanks again!

dgage246 Get it back to a dealership and let them deal with it. Where the other incidents you found involve Compass's or Patriot's

Whoa

That sounds pretty bad! Do you think it's a danger for passengers? Have you ever had an accident in it? What year is your compass?

SERIOUS airbag problem

Friday evening I was on the way home making a left turn after being stopped by a red light. As I was making the turn, the vehicle's side curtain airbags deployed for no apparent reason. I was of course starteled and it almost led to a collission. The dealer service dept is closed on weekends so I have yet to find out more about it. I did a search on the web and found several other incidents in which the side airbags deployed for no apparent reason. Does anyone have more information about the problem? Any input will be helpfull.
